On site

The installations are meant to be site-specific, to work with the processes of the site, establish a narrative and emphasize the 'Genius of the Place' discovered with the previous exercise of analysis and research. On-site materials, recycled, maybe ephemeral will be used.

This exercise learns from the experiments of Land-Artist, Earth Artists, Environmental Artists as well as Conceptual Artists who bridge the gap between landscape architecture and art. Such works allow to interact tangibly with the land and give and added value to a site, involving visitors and users.

Robert Smithson tribute

A forgotten spot in need to be discovered along a never ending axes crossing the multiple spaces of Villa Koch in Recanati.

Thank you to Fabrizio Monaldi.

The Ruin

... along the path ... the ruin of an old 'ciabot' hidden by the vegetation needs to be rescued ...

Traces of a forgotten past reappear and talk about people working heavily in symbiosis with their land.

The Wood

... along the path ... a small dense wood.

"it is the most harsh and isolated ... it was so hard to deforest and open a bit this area, creating narrow paths through the cages of branches ... the desire to show some hidden god of this land was still strong ... without so much thinking, we started to make objects assembling branches; we were building altars !

Very rudimental, sure, but altars. We arranged them in different places, half hidden by the vegetation.

They were sacred sites, dedicated to fairy creatures ..." (from 'E il giardino creo' l'uomo' Jorn De Precy)

The Nest

How to reuse the material that comes from the rescued ruin ?

A Giant Nest becomes a safe, contemplative space connected visually with the others stations and establishes a dialogue with a wider context.

The Shelter

Vertical green, plants growing in indoor space, rooftop gardens ... different ways to compensate the destructive human actions towards nature.

Yes flowers can grow BELOW the shelter ...

The installation plays with the meaning of the word BELOW ... before and after the installation the flowers grow below the shelter ... but in one of the two situations we don't know for how long ...

The IWI altar

Dead creatures regaining life with the help of a human being ... like Hawaiian 'Lei' they represent the bond between nature and man as symbol of reciprocal needs.
